The riverwalk is a great place to stroll along the meandering Waccamaw River. Not only can you enjoy this famous blackwater river, but you will also come across rustic wooden buildings, a playground, marinas, picnic tables, and an elegant inn. At the end of the trail is a magnificent arboretum that features a wide variety of trees and plants.

Live theater performed by local actors and actresses. Theatre of the Republic is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization committed to providing quality, affordable non-professional theatrical productions to Horry County and the surrounding areas.

The Horry County Museum was established in 1979 and opened its doors to the public in 1981. The Museum focuses on the history, pre-history, and natural history of Horry County, S.C., and educates the public about these subjects through exhibits, outreach programs, and events.

In 2009, the Museum opened the L. W. Paul Living History Farm. The Farm is a recreation of life on a one horse family farm between the years of 1900-1955. Visitors to the farm can experience what life was like in a farm community during those years and attend quarterly events at the Farm.
Thompson Farm and Nursery is a celebration of our past with a focus on our future. We instill an appreciation of the agriculture experience through hands-on activities and educational instruction. We will offer an understanding of the importance of farming: past, present, and future.
